The Bordelove Family Bat Mitzvah

The Bordelove Family of West Bloomfield, Michigan, recently celebrated their daughter Carli’s Bat Mitzvah on October 10, 2015. Carli’s theme was Completely Carli.

Carli chose a rectangle shaped three layer pink, silver and white invitation. The invitations were ordered from Stephanie Langwell at Grand Occasions. Carli’s mom Jenny said that Stephanie was amazing to work with.

The service was held at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, MI. Carli was honored to have her parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncle participate in the service. Carli’s brothers, Blake and Bradley, presented Carli with a beautiful tzedakah box. Her grandparents presented her with a gorgeous pink and white tallit.

The party was held at the Diamond Center in Novi, MI. Kathy from Artful Chameleon did a wonderful job transforming the room. Kathy’s creative touches included an adorable place card table, which included a big picture of Carli and her logo and a sign in board with Carli’s picture. Carli’s party planner was Shannon McConnell from Star Trax. Carli’s mom, Jenny, said she could not have pulled the party together without Shannon’s help. Photos of the party and service were taken by Amy Gillespie.

The party room was pink and sparkly. The tables alternated between pink with silver linens and sparkly silver linens. Half of the tables were decorated with flowers created by Jeffrey from Fleurtech. The other half of the tables had centerpieces with Carli’s picture. A large fathead with Carli’s logo was displayed in the middle of the dance floor. Custom coasters were printed with Carli’s logo.

Carli’s montage and entrance video were created by Tone-E Productions. Jenny said that Rachel and Brian from Tone-E were very creative and worked super hard.

After the videos were shown, Carli was escorted into the party room by Dennis of Star Trax.

Artful Chameleon created a beautiful pink and silver sparkly candle lighting display. Carli lit 11 candles, which included a candle in honor of her grandfather who could not be there. Carli’s grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, best friend, all friends, brothers and parents each lit a candle. The candle lighting poems were written by Jenny. Carli’s brothers Blake and Bradley as well as her Grandpa Bob made special toasts for Carli.

Dennis from Star Trax kept the dance floor packed all night. Dennis and the Star Trax team passed out lots of fun giveaways including sunglasses, hats, light up rings, necklaces and bracelets. The kids loved prizes which included Nike Elite socks, Roots socks, selfie sticks, big candy, Lululemon headbands and Starbucks gift cards. While not on the dance floor, guests loved receiving airbrush tattoos and pictures from Shutterbooth.

Carli and her dad Mark enjoyed a special daddy daughter dance.

Guests loved eating special treats such as Dinky Donuts and chocolate chip cookies with shots of milk. The Bordelove’s also served adult “Cartinis” (Cosmopolitans) and kid’s “Cartinis” (Pink Lemonade and 7-up).

Carli’s friends received adorable ¼ zip sweatshirts with Carli’s logo.

As part of Carli’s Mitzvah Project, she volunteered at Fleishmann Nursing Home. Carli has enjoyed playing bingo with the Fleishmann residence since she was in 2nd grade.
